429 Broadway, Nashville, TN

Two levels, three stages – it’s all about the music.

About Rippy’s Bar & Grill

Rippy’s Bar and Grill opened in 2000 at 429 Broadway, on the corner of 5th, directly across from both Bridgestone Arena and Tootsie’s. It was founded by Nashville restaurateur Jeff Rippy, and the Rippy family also runs the local Corner Pub establishments, so this is a homegrown operation rather than a brand or a celebrity bar.

The venue runs two floors with three stages and three bars, so there is live music throughout. What sets Rippy’s apart is the kitchen: it has a real reputation for barbecue, enough that people come for the food first and the band second. The location matters too. Being directly across from Bridgestone Arena makes it a natural stop before or after a concert or a Predators game, and it fills with that event crowd.

Rippy’s is the pick when you want a proper barbecue meal alongside your live music rather than an afterthought bar menu, and it is hard to beat for convenience if you are headed to anything at Bridgestone. It is a locally owned bar and grill at heart, which gives it a different feel from the celebrity mega-bars a few doors down.
