Doc Holliday’s Saloon

112 2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN

A 2nd Avenue saloon with a daily live-music lineup.

About Doc Holliday’s Saloon

Doc Holliday’s Saloon has been at 112 2nd Avenue North since 2000, which makes it one of the more established bars just off the Broadway core. It runs a Wild West theme, and unlike a lot of the bigger venues, it has had a couple of decades to settle into its own character.

The bar is bi-level, connected by a spiral staircase, with live music every night. There is no rooftop and no multi-floor scale here. What you get instead is a smaller, warmer room, its walls and ceiling covered in dollar bills signed by past patrons. The bar collects those bills and donates the money to a food bank each Christmas, which is a genuine local detail rather than a marketing line. Doc Holliday’s is also known for its Bloody Marys. The crowd is visitors who wanted a honky-tonk with some character and less chaos.

This is the pick if you want an authentic, lived-in saloon a step off the main drag, where the room has a story and the noise is manageable. It is independent and unpretentious, and it rewards anyone willing to walk a block off Broadway.
