LOWER BROADWAY · NASHVILLE
428 Broadway, Nashville, TN
A landmark Lower Broadway honky-tonk known for its mural.
Legends Corner opened in the spring of 1997 on the corner of 5th and Broadway, directly across from the Ryman. It was opened by Ruble Sanderson, and it is often credited as one of the bars that helped raise the standard of Lower Broadway back when the strip was still rough around the edges.
It is a single main room with one stage, and the walls are the feature. They are covered, nearly floor to ceiling, in country album covers and memorabilia, including five Elvis Presley Sun Records 78s and a twelve-string guitar that once belonged to Johnny Cash. Live music runs every day from 11 in the morning to 2 at night. The crowd is tourists and locals who came for traditional country rather than a DJ and a dance floor.
Legends Corner is for country-music traditionalists. It is closer to a working museum with a bar and a band than a party venue, and the memorabilia alone is worth the stop. If you want history on the walls and a classic honky-tonk room without the multi-floor scale, this is a reliable, long-standing choice.
The live-music lineup for Legends Corner is part of the Bars on Broadway schedule, refreshed every morning and night. Check tonight’s Broadway lineup →
