PRINTERS ALLEY · NASHVILLE
308 Church St, Nashville, TN
Nashville’s #1 karaoke bar in Printers Alley.
Lonnie’s Western Room is a karaoke bar, and that is the first thing to know, because it is not a live-band honky-tonk like most of this guide. It has operated as a karaoke spot since 1989, in a Printers Alley-area space at 308 Church Street that was a piano bar called the Voodoo Room back in the 1960s and 70s. It is family-owned and has been for a long time.
The room is a single karaoke space with an elevated stage set behind the bar. It is timeworn in the way a real dive is, and that is part of why people are loyal to it. It has been voted Nashville’s number one karaoke bar, and the television show Nashville Star is reported to have gotten its start here. The crowd runs to college-age singers, locals, and the late-night crowd, and there is a cover charge at the door.
Lonnie’s is the place to go when you want to be the one on stage rather than watch a cover band. If singing in front of strangers is your idea of a good Nashville night, this is the spot. If it is not, this one is an easy skip.
The live-music lineup for Lonnie’s Western Room is part of the Bars on Broadway schedule, refreshed every morning and night. Check tonight’s Broadway lineup →
