PRINTERS ALLEY · NASHVILLE
220 Printers Alley, Nashville, TN
Printers Alley’s home of blues, boogie and soul.
Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar has been in Printers Alley since 1994, which makes it one of the longest-running music venues in this part of downtown. Marshall Levy opened it in the basement space that once held Boots Randolph’s Carousel Club, and it has held that spot for over thirty years.
This is a blues club, not a country honky-tonk, and that is the entire point of it. The room is a low, dark, New Orleans-style basement built for soul and blues rather than cover-band country. The kitchen runs Cajun and Creole food to match. Over the decades the stage has hosted genuine legends, with James Brown and B.B. King among the names that have played the room. The crowd is live-music fans, both locals and visitors, who specifically wanted blues.
Come here when you want a break from the country strip and a real blues night with food to match. It is an institution in Printers Alley and one of the few rooms downtown built around a different genre entirely. Anyone hunting for authenticity over scale will appreciate it.
The live-music lineup for Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar is part of the Bars on Broadway schedule, refreshed every morning and night. Check tonight’s Broadway lineup →
