The Celebrity Bars of Broadway, and What Each One Offers

Half the strip now carries a country star’s name. Here is what they actually have in common, and where they differ.

A large share of Lower Broadway now carries a famous name over the door. The celebrity-owned megabars are the most visible change to the strip in the last decade, and to a first-time visitor they can blur together. They are not all the same, and knowing the pattern helps you pick.

What they have in common

The celebrity bars follow a formula, and it is a reliable one. Expect multiple floors, several bars, more than one stage, a rooftop, and a real kitchen. They are large, professionally run, and built for volume. Drinks are priced well above the traditional honky-tonks. None of them charge a cover, the same as the rest of Broadway.

The party-first megabars

Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk and Luke’s 32 Bridge are the clearest examples of the loud, sprawling, move-between-floors party building. Friends in Low Places, Garth Brooks’ bar, is the biggest honky-tonk on the street. If you want scale and energy, these deliver it.

The ones with a food angle

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar and Ole Red both run real kitchens and are easy places to plan a meal around. Ole Red is backed by the company behind the Grand Ole Opry, which gives it a more produced feel than the independently run bars.

The ones doing something different

Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa breaks the formula with a Tex-Mex cantina theme and margaritas, and it was the first bar on Broadway owned by a female artist. Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row leans on having one of the best rooftop views on the strip.

How to choose

The honest truth is that the celebrity bars are more alike than different, and the name over the door tells you less than the layout does. Pick by what you want from the night: a rooftop, a meal, a dance floor, or a particular artist you are a fan of. Every one of them is covered in detail on its venue page, and if you want a route through several, the Plan Your Night tool will build one.
