Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park (600 James Robertson Parkway). 7 PM to past midnight. Free admission. Live music on multiple stages. Note drop and fireworks at midnight. Worth attending once.
The Mall is better for: free entertainment, the note-drop moment, fireworks, larger crowd, official NYE.
Broadway is better for: bar atmosphere, music throughout the night, smaller crowds, real cocktails, country music genre.
5 PM to 8 PM: Pre-game dinner and drinks. Themed cocktails.
8 PM to 10 PM: Crowd intensifies. Lines form. Cover charges appear.
10 PM to 11:30 PM: Peak. Bars at capacity. Extended sets.
11:30 PM to 12:15 AM: Midnight countdown. Champagne toast.
12:15 AM to 2 AM: Wind-down.
Acme. Multi-floor + food + rooftop view of fireworks.
Honky Tonk Central. Three-floor format absorbs the crowd.
Tootsie’s. Iconic NYE. Expect a line.
Ole Red. Big stage venue with TV countdown.
Bourbon Street. Quieter alternative. Real cocktail program.

Robert’s (NYE crowd doesn’t match the vibe). Layla’s (too small for the density). Kid Rock’s, Margaritaville, Jason Aldean’s (forgettable tourist parties). Rooftops (most closed for weather, Acme exception if weather allows).
NYE is the one night most Broadway bars charge covers. Standard bars: $20-$40. Bachelorette flagships with NYE events: $50-$100. Hotel rooftops with views: $75-$150. Smaller cocktail bars: reservation + one-drink minimum. Budget $100-$200 per person before drinks.
Most important NYE reservation. Book by mid-November. 7 or 8 PM seating. Pinewood Social, Etch, 1892 at the Hermitage.
Lyft surge 3x-5x normal. From midnight to 2 AM, a $11 ride costs $50-$100. Walk back if within 4 blocks. Pre-book a ride. Stay until 2 AM when surge tapers.

NYE on Broadway is doable but expensive and chaotic. Pick the mall ball drop OR the Broadway bar experience. Book dinner 4 weeks out, pay the covers, walk between venues, walk home after midnight.
