Titans Game Day on Broadway: The Pre-Walk Plan

The Tennessee Titans play home games at Nissan Stadium, just across the Cumberland River from Lower Broadway. The walk across the Pedestrian Bridge to the stadium gates is about 15 minutes. Broadway becomes the Titans pre-game zone with about 30,000 fans washing through in the three hours before kickoff.

The schedule

For 12 PM Sunday games: 10 AM bars fill. 11 AM peak pre-game. 11:30 AM mass exodus to stadium. 3-4 PM post-game return.

For 3 PM games: 11 AM brunch. 12:30 PM peak. 2:15 PM walk to stadium. 7 PM post-game.

For Sunday Night Football (7:20 PM): 4 PM pre-game. 6:30 PM walk. 11 PM return mixed with normal Sunday Broadway crowd.

The right pre-game bars

Bars with TVs, food, capacity to handle a fast-arriving crowd.

Acme Feed and Seed. Multi-floor TV setup, ground-floor kitchen, rooftop view of the bridge. Best pre-game spot. Get there 10 AM for 12 PM game.

Whiskey Row. Sports-bar adjacent, multiple TVs, capacity.

Whiskey Bent Saloon. Titans colors in the decor, strong sports vibe.

Tin Roof on 1st Avenue South. Often a Titans fan home base.

Jason Aldean’s. Solid TV setup, food kitchen.

Bars that don’t work pre-game

The honky-tonks. Robert’s, Layla’s, Tootsie’s, Honky Tonk Central, Margaritaville. Music programming over sports TV.

The bridge walk

Pedestrian Bridge across the Cumberland, 12-18 minutes. Festive, two-tone blue, bring water. Don’t try to bring drinks into the stadium. Walk back after the game takes 25 minutes.

Pre-game food

Hot, sandwich-format, quick. Acme fried-chicken sandwich. Robert’s recession special. Hattie B’s on Charlotte (10-min Lyft) for hot chicken.

Post-game

Titans win: Broadway loud, celebration extends. Acme is post-win HQ.

Titans lose: Half the crowd leaves. Go to Gulch or Germantown.

Game ends at 6 PM: Best post-game window. Dinner in Germantown, drinks back on Broadway after.

Game day hotels

Hotels within 5 blocks of bridge entrance (Bobby, Joseph, Hilton on 4th South). West of Broadway (Gulch) is a 25-min walk. See where to stay near Broadway.

Non-Titans fans in the group

Country Music Hall of Fame during the game. Brunch at Henrietta Red. Hotel spa. Walk Riverfront Park while the bridge is busy.

Visiting team fans

Nashville is friendlier than most NFL cities. Wear the colors you want. Rivalry games (Colts, Texans, Jaguars) get more pointed but still mostly civil.

Bottom line

Sports-friendly bars (Acme, Whiskey Row, Whiskey Bent), not honky-tonks. Pre-game starts 90 minutes before kickoff. Walk the Pedestrian Bridge. Post-game energy depends on the score.

For all 37 bars, the venue guide. For Sunday non-game options, the day drinking strategy. For hotels, where to stay near Broadway.

Walk the bridge. Wear the blue. Eat something substantial before you cross.
